Prabhas’s most anticipated film, Saalar, has been continuously pushed back, much to the chagrin of his devoted fan base. Saalar’s release date, December 22, 2023, was revealed just recently, and ever since then, the battle between Saalar and Dunki has been all over the news. It’s the first time Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas have starred in films together, so fans everywhere are eager to watch who comes out on top.

Fans of Shah Rukh Khan are outraged by the scheduling conflict and have taken to social media to blast Prabhas, the film’s producers, and anybody else associated with the movie for choosing the same day as the release of Dunki.

Saalar has been criticized as unprofessional

One Redditor said of the Salaar film’s sudden criticism of Prabhas, “Very unprofessional of Salaar makers to so.” All hell would have broken out and SRK would have been called names if the creators of SRK or Dunki had done the same thing. “Stupidity by the makers of Salaar,” another person said. Both films will suffer as a result, unfortunately.

Saalar’s original release date was two weeks before Jawan’s, but the filmmakers allegedly delayed the film out of concern for its box office performance; now they’re being asked why they’re releasing so close to Dunki’s.

Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan are the real box office kings, but based on his track record, the Baahubali star hasn’t had mega hits, so this release is a litmus test for the superstar. However, with the film also releasing with Dunki, it remains to be seen how the two films’ competition will affect the film’s box office numbers, especially since Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, Jawan, has been dominating the marketplace.
