Like the rest of the country, director Sanjay Gupta is also in awe of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest offering ‘Jawan’. Taking to his X handle (previously known as Twitter), he has penned how the actor’s power-packed performance about standing against the wrongdoers in the film impressed him. Besides this, the filmmaker has made some startling revelations about SRK that no one knew before.

In a heartfelt note expressing his admiration for the actor, Sanjay said that ‘Jawan’ took him back to the 90s when the underworld had a big command over Bollywood. The actors used to work on their orders. But Shah Rukh was the only star who had stood against the underworld. He had straightaway told them that they could kill him, but he would never bow down in front of them. His tweet can be read as:

“I saw JAWAN. I feel compelled to share this. Back in the 90’s when the underworld bullying of the film stars was at its peak @iamsrk was THE ONLY star who never gave in. He said, “Goli marni hai mar do, par tumhaare liye kaam nahin karoonga. Main Pathan hoon” and he’s the same today.”

Soon after, Sanjay’s tweet went viral and netizens began coming up with their unified reactions. One user wrote, “History knows the likes of Salman kneel in front of the underworld. SRK has always been fearless and the biggest outsider in Bollywood history”. Another said, “Islye sameer wankhede se negotiate kr rha tha.”

A third one penned, “A sharpshooter was hired by gangster Abu Salem to shoot SRK.. Still SRK didn’t fear and calmy replied to Salem, ‘I don’t tell you who to shoot, so don’t tell me which film to do.’ #ShahRukhKhan: The REAL LIFE HERO.” “No deal with criminal Sameer,” read a comment.

While Shah Rukh has always been depicted as the ‘King of Romance’, he is now changing his image to be the next ‘Action Star’ of cinema. In an interview earlier, the actor had revealed the reason behind doing action films in his late 50s. He said that his elder son and daughter told him he will have to do films which are cool for the youngest, Abram. And for the little one, the only cool thing is all the anime and action films. On hearing it, the megastar decided to be a superhero. But later thought he did not look good in spandex. And so, he started doing action films. He clarified that he is taking up action roles just to impress his kids.

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan is enjoying the success of his recent blockbuster ‘Jawan’. The film has crossed a collection of Rs. 200 crore at the box office within 4 days of its release.
