Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s non-profit organization ‘Meer Foundation’ works towards the rehabilitation of acid attack survivors, slum dwellers, underprivileged children, and women empowerment. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan’s NGO Meer Foundation has got a license from the Home Ministry to receive foreign donations. The Home Ministry has also granted Foreign Contribution Registration Act (FCRA) licenses to 175 NGOs including the Meer Foundation for the next five years. The organizations that can now receive funds from foreign contributions also include Olympic medalist Mary Kom’s NGO ‘Mary Kom Regional Boxing’ Foundation.
