Shahid’s Jersey Gets Green Signal Against Plagiarism Case; To Be Released On April 22

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal’s latest movie ‘Jersey’ again gets into trouble. The makers of the movie decided to release it on 22 April, instead of 14 April. After the decision on shifting dates, fans are supposed that the producer gets afraid of KGF Chapter 2. However, Shahid Kapoor revealed in an interview that they are not afraid of a giant KGF 2 as both concepts are different.

As per the source, the reason behind this is a writer Rajneesh Jaiswal. Rajneesh claimed that the story of the film belongs to him and had filed the case against the makers in the Bombay High Court. He claimed that the producers have plagiarized his script titled The Wall.

‘Jersey’ producer Aman Gill says, “We were all geared up to release our film Jersey this holiday weekend, however, we didn’t want to go ahead and plan a release until the courts gave us a favourable order, and with the hearing scheduled for Wednesday, we had no time to plan for the Thursday release hence we decided to postpone the release by a week to 22nd April till we got such an order. Today on Wednesday we got a favourable order, which clears the way for our release next week 22nd April.”

Jersey will be the first movie of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur. Apart from the lead roles, Pankaj Kapoor, presented by Allu Arvind, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and produced by Dil Raju, S.Naga Vamsi & Aman Gill, is set to release on 22nd April 2022.
