Shahrukh Khan Calls His Own Daughter Suhana Khan ‘Dusky & Sanwli’, Faces Backlash
While many stars have come out openly to shed the age-old inclination of Indians towards fair skin, there are some who are still endorsing this old idea. Among other stars, Swara Bhaskar, Abhay Deol, and Kangana Ranaut have been the most vocal in trying to get the idea of fair skin and its connection with happiness and success out of the minds of their fans. In such an age, King Khan Shahrukh has accepted the endorsement of fairness cream.
Shahrukh Khan is considered to be a big role model and him endorsing fairness cream would only mean that he is against the idea of natural beauty propagating the same amidst his fans. He received a lot of backlash for doing so. But the backlash didn’t stop for the Zero actor and it only intensified when he called his 18-year-old daughter, Suhana Khan ‘dusky’. Before we unveil the truth, here are a few glimpses from the backlash he faced on social media:
While stating about the same, Shahrukh had said, “I’ll be honest; my daughter is sanwli (dusky), but she’s the most beautiful girl in the world. And nobody can tell me otherwise.” We capitalise the word ‘quoted’ here for a reason, because what Shah Rukh actually said goes like this, “My daughter is sanwli (dusky), AND she’s the most beautiful girl in the world.”
He also added, , “Well, if I still smell a little honest beneath all that’s public about me, then trust me, I’ve never tried to be dishonest with anyone. I mean, who am to do so? I was never the best-looking guy, the tallest person, the most able-bodied person, the best dancer, the guy with the nicest hair, not from a fine lineage and I did not come from an acting school that taught me to be a Hindi film hero.”
Further, Shahrukh said, , “How can I belittle someone on any of these seven-eight aspects? My wife, my children, I am all normal people and by saying so, I would be abusing my entire family. I’m a lower-middle-class guy with none of these trappings.”
He even went on to speak about his own looks and continued, “The only thing that must have worked for me is honesty. But look at me now; because of my stardom, I’m good looking also; I’ve become a poster boy! What joke is that? I used to have posters of Cheryl Ladd and Clint Eastwood in my room. I never though main Cheryl Ladd ban jaunga toh main Clint Eastwood ban jaunga. That aspect was never a part of my life.”
