Colombian singer Shakira has been hospitalised due to an abdominal issue, forcing her to postpone her scheduled concert in Peru. The 48-year-old pop icon, who recently embarked on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, shared the news on social media, expressing her disappointment over the delay.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Shakira informed her fans that she had to visit the emergency room on Saturday night and was still under medical care. “I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalised,” she wrote. Doctors have advised her against performing, citing her unfit condition.
The singer expressed her deep regret over the postponement, stating that she had been eagerly looking forward to the show in Peru. However, she assured fans that her team and concert promoters were already working on rescheduling the performance. “I love you all, and I appreciate your understanding,” she added.

Despite the setback, Shakira remains optimistic about her recovery. She hopes to be discharged by Monday and resume her tour as planned. If her condition improves, she is expected to perform in Peru that same evening before continuing to Colombia for a series of shows.
Tour Success and Controversy
Shakira kicked off her highly anticipated world tour on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro, shortly after winning a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. The South American leg of the tour runs until March 8 before she moves on to Mexico.
However, the tour has not been without controversy. Some fans have drawn comparisons between Shakira’s stage setup and Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, pointing out similarities in metallic stage designs and large silver lettering. While the debate continues online, Shakira’s supporters have rallied behind her, celebrating her performances and artistic vision.
The singer’s health scare has temporarily halted her schedule, but she remains focused on recovering and returning to the stage. Fans in Peru await further updates on the rescheduled concert as the singer continues her medical treatment.
