Shibani Dandekar, The New Wife, Adds Akhtar To Her Surname To Make It Official On Instagram!
Shibani Dandekar, an actress and a VJ, has added her husband Farhan Akhtar’s surname to her Instagram account and now it says Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar.
Shibani, was born in Pune and grew up in Australia and Africa. She made her acting debut in Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar’s 2015 film ‘Roy,’ which starred Ranbir Kapoor. Initially she began her career as a musician, fronting a band called D-Major , and the finally she moved on to modelling and reality shows like ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.’ She also served as one of the TV hosts for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, which was held in England and Wales.
Shibani and Farhan, who had been dating since 2018, recently got married in an intimate ceremony on the outskirts of Mumbai on February 19, 2022. Shibani stole the show by her stunning red and cream gown which she wore for the wedding, accompanied with a one-of-a-kind red bridal veil, little jewellery, and her hair down. On the other hand, Farhan Akhtar, dressed in a black suit, looked dashing. Shibani’s bridal gown was in accordance with the red-pink and gold flower backdrop. Hrithik Roshan and his family, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, and musician Ehsaan Noorani were among the celebrities in attendance at the wedding.
Following the wedding, the pair purportedly married in a registered ceremony as well on 21st February, 2022. Surprisingly on the same day the couple also completed four years of their relationship. Apart from that, various photos and videos from the wedding celebrations can be increasingly seen on the internet since the couple sealed the knot. For the uninitiated, the pair met on the set of ‘I Can Do That, a reality show.’ Shibani was a participant, while Farhan Akhtar acted as the host. The couple made their romance official in 2018 after various rumors arose online. Since then, this in-love couple hasn’t stopped posting pictures of themselves holding each other’s hands or simply indulging in some sweet public display of affection on social media. Even Shibani also posted a photo of herself displaying the Farhan tattoo she had done on her neck, taking their love to a whole new level.
Farhan and Shibani’s wedding was full of unforgettable moments to savour. The lovebirds tuning to the melodies of Dil Chahta hai, sung live by Shankar Mahadevan, were among the moments that drew the most attention. Another similar moment was where Hrithik Roshan danced to the rhythms of Senorita with Farhan Akhtar, a song from film ‘Zindagi na Milegi Dobara’.
