Indian cricketer, Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently leading the country in a three-match ODI series against South Africa, is going to make his acting debut soon. The ace player will star alongside Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha in their upcoming film Double XL.

Huma took to Instagram to share the news of Dhawan’s first appearance in films. Posting a picture of herself with Shikhar, she revealed that the cricketer will have a cameo in her project. “Cat is out of the bag. Finally @shikhardofficial #DoubleXL @aslisona @iamzahero @mahatofficial (sic),” penned the Maharani actress. While Huma looked gorgeous in a magenta-coloured ensemble, Shikhar showed his style in a black tuxedo. The duo is seen holding hands as they brace themselves for a dance.

Speaking about the film, Shikhar said that he loves watching films and the story of Double XL touched him a lot which made him say ‘yes’ to it. “As an athlete playing for the nation, life is always very hectic. One of my favorite pastimes is to watch good entertaining films. When this opportunity came to me and I heard the story, it made a deep impact on me. This is a lovely message for the whole society, and I hope a lot of young girls and boys will keep pursuing their dreams no matter what,” he stated.

Double XL is aiming to break the stereotypes related to weight issues and body shaming. It is produced by Huma Qureshi’s boyfriend Mudassar Aziz along with Ashwin Varde. The movie will mark Sonakshi Sinha’s first film collaboration with rumored beau Zaheer Iqbal. It will hit the screens on November 4, 2022.
