Shilpa Shetty Hits Back At Trolls Who Slammed Her For Hoisting Flag With Footwear On, ‘Back Off’

The wave of 77th Indian Independence Day has taken over the entire nation. And just like the rest of us, Bollywood celebs are also engrossed in it. They are celebrating the day in different ways. Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra marked the Independence Day by hoisting the national flag at her home with her family.

Shilpa receives backlash for hoisting tricolour with shoes on

Taking to her Instagram handle, the actress dropped a video featuring her kids Viaan and Samisha, her husband Raj Kundra and her mother Sunanda Shetty. In the clip, Shilpa is seen wearing white and green-coloured salwar suit paired with saffron shade dupatta. She is hoisting the flag. Alongside the video, the actress simply wrote in the caption, “Vande Mataram.”

As the video reached internet, a section of online users began trolling Shilpa for wearing footwear while hoisting the tricolour. One user wrote, “Sorry ma’am, It would have been better to take off the shoes and raise the flag.” Another said, “Mam chappal pehene k kon jhanda Fehrata hai pls aage se Aisa na kare.“ A third one penned, “Aapko chappal to utar Dene the, it’s disrespecting of our flag.”

Shilpa responds to negative comments

While the actress hardly reacts to online bashing, this time she did not keep mum. Shilpa shared a screenshot of Google which clearly mentioned that the Flag Code Of India does not restrict hoisting the Indian tricolour with shoes on. Besides this screengrab, the actress wrote a long note slamming the trolls. She said that she is a proud Indian who is aware of the “Rules” of conduct while hoisting the flag. Shilpa addressed all the trollers and stated that she does not appreciate them airing ignorance and spreading negativity on a special Day. At the end, the actress asked all the trolls to get their facts rights and back off.

Workwise, Shilpa Shetty Kundra is currently acting as a judge on the reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’ along with Kirron Kher and Badshah.
