If there’s one thing that people all around the globe associate with Bollywood, it’s the romantic comedies they’ve seen and Yash Chopra is the only individual who deserves the credit for providing us with such unforgettable love tales.

For the unversed, Mumtaz, the iconic heroine of the 1960s and 1970s, is remembered fondly for her unique sense of style and gorgeous smile. Yet you probably don’t know that Mumtaz, the queen of millions of fans’ hearts, was created out of a love affair between herself and film director Yash Chopra.

Mumtaz and Saira Banu co-starred in the film ” Aadmi Aur Insaan,” a 1969 film produced by Yash Chopra, a fan of both actresses. Yash boosted Mumtaz’s portion owing to his enthusiasm for Mumtaz and gave her a special song, but Saira Banu could not do anything remarkable in that picture despite being the film’s star heroine.

Pamela Chopra discusses Yash Chopra and Mumtaz’s rumored affair.

When asked whether it affected her, Pamela Chopra said that her husband, Yash Chopra’s daily ritual, which had gone by around many stunning women, never upset her. Her joke in reaction to this was as follows:

“Sometimes, sure, it did (laughs). I was envious of all the attractive people there. A lot of his focus would be on them. That took some getting accustomed to, but I eventually accepted it since I knew how important Yash’s family was to him,” she said.

In this same interview, Pamela Chopra addressed the rumors that her husband, Yash Chopra, had an affair with the great actress Mumtaz. Once their marriage became public knowledge, Pamela said that she had long suspected that Yash Chopra was already in a relationship with another prominent actress from the same period. To which she reflected back, “I remember saying…”

“I’ll be honest. There were more rumors flying about before I tied the knot. Some said he was engaged to be married to this alleged heroine and that he was involved with her. When first meeting Romesh, it was the one and the only question I posed to him. I inquired as to what the problem was between Mumtaz and Yash. That was nothing, he assured me. He praised Mumtaz as a great friend and noted that she is not the typical “filmi,” delicate heroine type. In his opinion, the matter was closed. Well, that’s different from how things are, but never mind,” she said.
