Actress Shruti Haasan is quite vocal about her mental health issues. In the past, the actress has talked openly about experiencing a dark phase in her life for which she also underwent therapy. Now, Shruti has revealed her parents’ reaction to the same. Shruti Haasan is the daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, who live separately.
Shruti in an interview with a leading daily has said that though her parents were very supportive, they were taken aback initially. She stated, “Of course, all parents take it personally first. My parents are extremely liberal and evolved and they understood, of course, therapy is fabulous. But I need therapy? ‘Why, what did we do?’ You take it personally.”
She further added, “I think that happens even with parents and it’s so much about saying, ‘We all contribute equally to messing up and fixing things’, and it is about saying, ‘I need this’. Even with my parents, I was like, ‘I need this, it’s not about you, I am not asking you to go for therapy, I am going for therapy’.”
Shruti in an interview with Hindustan Times said that she was afraid to resume shoots amid the covid-19 pandemic in May but she took the harsh step and began her work in order to pay bills.“I have my limitations. I don’t have my daddy or mommy helping me,” she said.
