Popular Punjabi singer B Praak has expressed his grief and urged caution from authorities after a tragic stage collapse at the Kalkaji Temple in Delhi on Saturday night. The incident, which occurred during a religious event, claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman and injured 15 others.

In a video message posted to his Instagram Stories, Praak, who was performing at the event, expressed his sadness and emphasized the need for improved crowd control. He called the incident “heartbreaking” and emphasized how crucial it is to put safety first. “Life is the most precious thing,” he declared, pleading with the organizers to show “utmost care” going forward, particularly for the elderly and young.

While acknowledging the management’s efforts to keep the crowd under control, Praak underlined the necessity of more stringent measures. He said, “It is your love for the goddess and me, but the management did their best to help the crowd understand and move on. In the future, we must exercise extreme caution and give the children, the elderly, and everyone else our best attention.”

An FIR has been registered against the event organizers, and police investigations are ongoing. Reportedly, the majority of the injuries are minor, and the injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals.

Praak underlined the significance of putting safety first while also expressing his wish to perform at the temple again in the future. “We will return when the goddess summons us, but we must exercise extreme caution,” he said.

The Accident

In the tragic incident, one woman was killed and 17 others were injured. As per the reports, an elevated platform was created near the main stage for seating the families of organisers and VIPs. At about 12.30 am, several devotees climbed onto the stage when hymns were being sung. This led to the stage collapsing, as it could not bear the weight of the crowd.

According to the police, no permission was granted for holding the event.
