Single Girls on Valentine’s Day: The World Is Your Oyster

Valentine’s Day is one of those deals which is either loved or hated. There would be no person under the sun who didn’t have an opinion about it and a strong one too. Believe it or not, enjoying Valentine’s Day as a single girl is not a bad deal. If celebrated properly, it might be your favourite part of the year.

14 February is the day when love songs play continuously on the radio, TV and chocolate filled hearts are not lying on store shelves.

Since she was a child, Chandani has always held a fondness for Valentine’s Day and everything it represents. Perhaps it was due to the school gatherings. Alternatively, it might relate to the idea that the holiday prominently showcases red, which happened to be her favorite color. No matter what, she’s been captivated by Valentine’s Day since around the age of 10 and hasn’t abandoned it since.

The times have evolved since her days at the age of ten. Now in her late 20s, she realizes that Valentine’s Day focuses more on couples and commercialization than on love, friendship, or the heartfelt sentiments that captivated her in elementary school, but she still wholeheartedly embraces the holiday.

Let’s see why:

Great Day to Dress up

On the big day, you can rock as much red or heart-themed apparel as you can (stylishly, of course). Maybe you can have a huge pair of bronze heart earrings that you adore, try to work those into the equation. Even if Feb. 14 falls in the middle of the work week, you should make sure the colors of love feature prominently in your outfit. As far as makeup goes, try to keep the hues equally rosy. If it’s a work day, you can plan a little photoshoot before leaving for the office, take some polaroids too and create memories with yourself.

Write To Yourself

There’s nothing quite like a solid reminder of singlehood. Therefore, switch off the TV, take some paper, and compose a love letter to your future self that will act as a reminder to motivate, assist, and keep you directed towards the positive, or simply express your gratitude for her.

Treat Yourself

We’ve all experienced it, being in the mall gazing at a cherished item of clothing that we desire from a distance. If you’ve been waiting to indulge in something you truly desire, brighten your day a bit by pampering yourself.

Take A Class

There must be something out there that you’ve been eager to experiment with. That is precisely what you ought to do this evening. Enroll in a class that appeals to you – such as pole dancing, pottery, or knitting! The world is your playground!

Throw an Anti-Valentine’s Day Party

Being single is challenging, but that doesn’t mean you should cancel your Valentine’s Day celebration. Why not gather all your single friends, prepare a delicious meal, and celebrate your relationship-free status?

Indulge In An Evening Of Self Care

Treat today as a day for self-care to allow yourself to truly relax and feel revitalized. Schedule a visit to the hair salon, apply a face mask, and polish your nails while you unwind.

Have Yourself A Movie Marathon

Now is the moment to reserve your personal getaway with your favorite big screen stars. Forget the box of chocolates and opt for the classic movies instead. You realize you care for them! Perhaps you’ll even discover a brand new set of movie crushes!

Go Out With Your Best Friend

Nothing matches the connection you have with your best friend! So why not take them out and demonstrate just how much they matter to you? Get dressed and go out, engage in arts and crafts at home, join a cooking class together, or even better, organize a picnic.

Dive Into Reality Tv

Allow low-quality reality television to accompany you today! From series such as Friends to Modern Family and even Keeping Up With the Kardashians (no need to fret, this is a no-judgment space), it’s a guilty indulgence that’s absolutely enjoyable.
