‘Small Minds…’: Sonam Kapoor Shares Cryptic Post After Rana Daggubati’s ‘Big Hindi Cinema Heroine’ Remark

Actress Sonam Kapoor seems to have responded to the continuing issue brought on by recent comments made by actor-producer Rana Daggubati. She shared a quotation from former US First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt without addressing or making any reference to what had happened during the previous few days. “Just a little something I’d like some people to know… especially when discussing things about people that are made up,” Sonam captioned her Instagram stories.

The quotation reads: “Small minds discuss people; average minds discuss events; great minds discuss ideas“. Rana Daggubati told a tale about his friend, actor Dulquer Salmaan, who was acting opposite a “big Hindi cinema heroine” on the set of an unnamed movie when the dispute started. Despite the fact that Rana omitted the heroine’s name, many online users assumed that he was referring to Sonam. On the movie office failure of The Zoya Factor, Dulquer collaborated with Sonam.

Later, Rana apologized for his comments, which he had made at a King of Kotha event, on Twitter (now known as X). “I am truly worried by the criticism that Sonam has received as a result of my statements, which are completely false and were only meant to be humorous. We frequently joke around as friends, and I’m sorry if my statements were taken the wrong way,” he wrote.

In his initial remarks, he had stated that the heroine frequently forgot her lines and would converse on the phone with her spouse between takes—not about an urgent matter, but rather about shopping. He claimed that Dulquer watched patiently. “I would have shattered a bottle if I had one in my hand. Dulquer, though, kept his composure and provided as many takes as requested. He tolerated the jokes that were played on him. India Today quoted him as stating, “I sat with the producers later and gave them an earful.

Dulquer will appear in the Netflix series Guns & Gulaabs, which Raj and DK co-created and directed, before King of Kotha. Sonam’s most recent appearance was in the quietly successful JioCinema debut of the thriller Blind. After The Zoya Factor, it marked her return to acting.
