Surat in Gujarat and Indore in Madhya Pradesh has won among the 100 smart cities of the country. They have been awarded Smart City Award-2020. They have been given the shared first prize. In 2019, Surat alone was at number one. Among the states, UP has topped while Madhya Pradesh is at number two. Madhya Pradesh has received a total of 11 awards. The Union Ministry of Urban Affairs announced these awards on Friday.
Smart City
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri declared the results of India Smart City Contest-2020. Five out of seven smart cities of Madhya Pradesh have received 11 awards in different categories. Indore has been awarded the first prize along with Surat. There are five award-winning cities of MP- Bhopal, Sagar, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur.

- Innovative Idea World Theme Indore got the first position for Carbon Credit Finance in Mechanism.
- Round One City Indore got first place and Jabalpur got third place
