Sobhita Dhulipala shared a story on her Instagram with actors Vikram (Chiyaan), Karthi, Trisha and others in a private jet and tagged it as ‘The Chola Tour’. After attending a press meet in Chennai, with the director Mani Ratnam, co actors Trisha Krishnan, Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi, the Cholas (from the movie) are now in New Delhi for another press meet to  promote their upcoming film – Ponniyin Selvan 2. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was not a part of these promotions.

Her Upcoming Release

Ponniyin Selvan 1 which was released in Sep 2022 was a massive hit in Tamil Nadu. Although the film had a pan – India release, it did not do well in the northern parts of the country as the audience there could not connect well with the names and the characters of the story. Ponniyin Selvan was Mani Ratnam’s dream for over 10 years and now the second installment of the movie is slated to release on April 28, 2023. It is based on the novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

Sobhita portrays the role of Vanathi, love interest of Ponniyin Selvan. In the first part, we have seen Sobhita in a charming, witty role of a princess. In PS2, we can expect a lot of action and the story connecting all the characters introduced in the first installment. The music of both Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2 was rendered by the maestro A.R. Rahman.The song Veera Raja Veera picturised on Sobhita and Jayam Ravi has been sung by A.R. Rahman himself and is already topping the charts on Youtube. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Mani Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.

Her look for the Press meet in Delhi

Sobhita is all set up for her promotions in New Delhi and is seen in a brick red and orange velvet suit and heavy jewelry. But on her way to the press meet, she shared a glimpse of her enjoying a cup of ice cream.

Recently, a post by Chef Surender Mohan with Naga Chaitanya had gone viral as the netizens could spot Sobhita in the background although she tried to cover her face. The post was later deleted but it gave fuel to the dating rumours between Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita. She was last seen as the sensuous Kaveri in the Disney + Hotstar webseries , The Night Manager opposite Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.

The shooting of both PS1 and PS2 was completed in 150 days and this magnum opus has a huge star cast of Prakash Raj, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala.
