During the premiere, the actress talked about playing the lead in the spy thriller. She turned heads in a black outfit for the evening. Meanwhile, a clip of Samantha talking to the media about her role in ‘Citadel’ India is going viral on social media. The trolls are slamming her for her fake accent in the video.
Users called Samantha’s accent ‘fake’
In the video, Samantha Ruth Prabhu who has been suffering from a chronic illness for a long time, can be seen talking about being a part of the Indian version of ‘Citadel’ along with Varun Dhawan. She looks extremely excited to be a part of such a huge universe.
However, seeing the way in which the actress talks, netizens began calling it fake and cringe. Taking a jibe at Samantha’s tone, a user wrote, ‘What’s with these Indian stars? Why a different accent when they travel to America?’ Another stated, ‘Someone pls remind her that she is from Kerala.’ A third one penned, ‘I adore her a lot but the way she is faking her accent She shud hv spoke in Indian accent only.’
