Sonakshi Sinha Opens Up On Being Bullied During Her College, Was Asked To Stand In Corner

Sonakshi weighed 95 kg at one time and in one of her interviews, she revealed that when she entered the industry, she had lost more than 30 kg, even then people called her fat. Sonakshi spoke to a media house and revealed that she knew she needed to lose weight before making her Bollywood debut. When she lost over 30 kilos for ‘Dabangg’, some people appreciated her move but still most criticized her for being fatter than other actresses.

Sonakshi revealed, ‘I lost 30 kilos for my first film. When it was released, the audience loved me but the worst part was that people from the industry and the media were shaming me. It really hurt.’ She opened up about her life before Bollywood. Sonakshi said that when she was in college, she was teased for her weight and even the kids in her class would make fun of her looks. Sonakshi revealed, ‘I weighed around 95 kilos and I always looked older than my actual age. Though I played a lot of sports, the boys would bully me and call me names. They did not give me good roles in school. They always made me stand on the side or as an anchor.’

In fact, once Sonakshi decided to participate in her college’s fashion show, a student told her that she was ‘too big’ and embarrassed her. The actress said, ‘We had to organize a fashion show and I wanted to be a model and walk the ramp. So one of the skinny girls told me, ‘You handle the lights.’ I said why? I want to walk the ramp.’ She replied, ‘No, you are too big to walk the ramp.’ I felt very bad.’
