Sonam Bajwa Caught Liking Viral Video Mocking Janhvi Kapoor’s Accent

Janhvi Kapoor’s performance in her new film, Param Sundari, has drawn mixed reviews, with some viewers criticizing her accent and what they call a stereotypical portrayal of a Malayali woman. Now, a viral video that mocks the actress has received a notable response from fellow actor Sonam Bajwa, sparking an online debate.

The video, shared on Instagram by content creator @analeecerejo, features a hilarious imitation of Janhvi in the film, making a call to her sister Khushi. The reel quickly gained traction, and among the hundreds of comments, Sonam Bajwa was seen dropping several laughing emojis. Her Deewaniyat co-star, Harshvardhan Rane, also liked the post.

The actions of the two actors prompted a confused and critical reaction from social media users. One Reddit user commented, “Strange decision for the two of them to go hard on her for this because their own movie is coming soon and looks like it may end up being meme material.” Another user was more direct in their criticism, writing, “Sonam Bajwa should first introspect and look at her own ‘acting’ skills before mocking anyone else.” A third user quipped about the unspoken rivalry, saying, “An insider and outsider can never be friends.”

The film Param Sundari, which released on August 29, tells the story of a North Indian boy who falls in love with a South Indian girl. While the film was praised for its beautiful cinematography of Kerala, its storytelling left many audiences and critics underwhelmed.

Sonam Bajwa, a well-known name in Punjabi cinema, has been building her presence in Bollywood, recently seen in a supporting role in Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4. She will next appear in the film Ek Deewane ki Deewaniyat alongside Harshvardhan Rane, which is scheduled to release on October 21.
