Sonam Kapoor is set to perform at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert.
The Coronation of King Charles III is just a week away, and the lineup for a concert in London has been announced.
The late Queen’s eldest son succeeded his mother after her death on September 8, 2022. The Coronation will now mark the beginning of his reign.
While the Coronation Service will be held at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023, the Coronation Concert will be held at Windsor Castle on May 7, 2023.
There will be a Coronation Concert featuring global icons, including Bollywood superstar Sonam Kapoor!
The historic event will be attended by Tom Cruise and Nicole Scherzinger, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Sonam Kapoor being the only Indian celebrity in attendance.
Sonam Kapoor Will Make Her Royal Appearance At Coronation Concert
She will give a spoken word performance to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir, Variety reports. Sonam lives in London with Anand Ahuja and their son Vayu, and she visits India occasionally. This will be her first royal outing.
According to the press release, Kapoor’s piece will serve as a prelude to the Commonwealth’s inspiring virtual choir performance, which will feature choirs, solo artists, and duos from the 56 Commonwealth countries.
A 70-piece orchestra will accompany Steve Winwood’s modern rendition of his iconic song “Higher Love” performed by Commonwealth countries.
Several icons from around the world will perform at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert, including Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor, Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Winnie The Pooh, and Nicole Scherzinger, The Pussycat Dolls’ frontwoman.

Aside from them, Hugh Bonneville from Downton Abbey and Paddington is going to host the occasion, which is being produced by the BBC Studios.
The royals lately stated, via a press release, that “Buckingham Palace is delighted to provide additional details on the ceremonial, celebratory, and During the Coronation Weekend, there will be a number of community events taking place between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May 2023.”
“An archbishop of Canterbury will preside over the service,” according to a press release from Buckingham Palace.
In addition to reflecting the Monarchy’s role today, the service will also take into account the future while keeping a strong tradition and pageantry. The coronation will take place on May 6, and a concert will be held on May 7.
As well as millions of viewers around the world, 20,000 members of the public and invited guests will attend the concert to commemorate Their Majesties’ Coronation.
In addition, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie are on the guest list. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise attended Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.
Last year, Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger attended the Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee Pageant.
