Actor Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja’s son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, celebrated his first birthday recently. The family hosted a special event at their home in Delhi to mark the occasion. They began with a puja, a prayer ceremony, and followed it up with a family lunch.
Sonam Kapoor celebrates her son’s first birthday
Sonam shared pictures from the celebration on her Instagram. The family dressed in traditional outfits, while little Vayu wore a turquoise kurta and white pants. One photo showed Sonam and Anand holding Vayu during the puja. Another picture included Sonam’s parents, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, along with Anand’s family members. There was also a candid shot of Sonam happily playing with Vayu.

Sonam also gave fans a peek inside their home. They have a temple, a place for prayer, and colorful decorations for the birthday lunch. The house was adorned with bright paper cranes hanging from the ceiling and a large display of birthday balloons for Vayu.

In her post, Sonam expressed gratitude for their blessing and thanked everyone who helped organize the event. She mentioned @ranipinklove for the themed puja and lunch, and @kavitasinghinteriors for the beautiful mandir, or prayer space. Anand Ahuja also shared some pictures of Vayu on his own Instagram, without revealing his face.

Got married in 2018
Sonam and Anand got married in 2018 after dating for nearly two years. They announced Sonam’s pregnancy in March the previous year. The couple has chosen not to fully reveal Vayu’s face yet, keeping a sense of privacy around their child.
