In light of the ongoing rumours of marital strife between Alia and Ranbir Kapoor, veteran actress Soni Razdan, the mother-in-law of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, has made a cryptic jab at cancel culture.

On Saturday, Razdan posted a message on her Instagram Stories that read, “What’s seeming increasingly idiotic: Cancel culture. People deciding for other people what is wrong with their lives and then everyone jumping into some discussion or the other about things that actually have nothing to do with them! Funny times we live in!”

The post comes just days after Alia made a controversial statement about Ranbir that drew backlash from netizens. In a viral video, Alia demonstrated how she applies lipstick and stated that her then-boyfriend Ranbir would ask her to “wipe off” her lipstick because he preferred her natural lip colour. Some internet users interpreted Alia’s statement as proof that Ranbir is controlling and possessive. Others defended Ranbir, saying he was simply expressing his preference.

On the professional front, Alia recently made her Hollywood debut in the Netflix original film Heart Of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot. Meanwhile, Ranbir is waiting for the release of his upcoming film, Animal. It’s directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.
