The RRR team is now promoting for an Oscar nomination for the film in Hollywood. In a recent discussion about the film, director SS Rajamouli described RRR as a “Telugu film from the south of India,” eliciting a wide range of reactions on social media.

In a recent interview, SS Rajamouli was joined by actor Jr NTR, and they discussed the film’s reception and how it became such a global phenomenon. They also discussed the process of shooting the song Natu Natu, and how difficult it was to complete the shoot.
Before The RRR screening, SS Rajamouli spoke to a group of journalists at the Directors Guild of America. He stated during introducing the film, “This isn’t a Bollywood film. This is a Telugu film from southern India, my hometown. But, rather than stopping the film and giving you a piece of music or a dance, I use songs to move the story forward. I use those elements to advance the plot.”
