Sunny Deol Says Nepotism Debate Is Spread By Frustrated People, ‘If Not His Family…’

Bollywood actor Sunny Deol does not like mincing words. He is bluntly honest in his interactions with media. Currently, the actor is on a promotional spree for his upcoming film, Gadar 2. During an interview, he was asked to share his thoughts on the nepotism debate. Sunny said it is a narrative which is propagated by frustrated individuals. Though he credited his father Dharmendra for facilitating his career, he stressed that his filmy roots wasn’t the driving factor.

Sunny on nepotism

In a conversation with Aaj Tak, the host asked the actor that if Dharam ji was not an actor, where would he be today? To this, Sunny stated that he doesn’t know about it. But probably he would be in the same field where his father would be working.

Furthermore, the actor acknowledged that he came into acting because of his dad. He said that since his father is such a huge star, he got the opportunity of becoming an actor. Sunny shared that people need to understand that a child follows and imitated his father in a family. The hate and nepotism are being spread by people who are frustrated. According to the actor, it is nothing wrong if a father wants to do something for his son or daughter. He asked if not his family, then who is the father working for. However, Sunny mentioned that though a father can make his children get into films, he cannot control his success.

For the unknown, Sunny has two sons- Karan Deol and Rajveer Deol. While Karan made his Bollywood debut with ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ in 2019, Rajveer is soon going to enter into Bollywood with the film ‘Dono’.
