Superman Star Henry Cavill Hates Sex Scenes In Movies: ‘I Don’t Understand Them’
Superman Henry Cavill may have a Kryptonite of his own, and you will never guess what. He recently revealed his dislike for sex scenes in movies and how he is not a fan of shooting them. “I don’t understand them,” he shakes his head in disdain. This opinion comes in the backdrop of experts weighing in about the amount of sex shown in TV and films.
Not Fond of Portraying Intimacy
The Man of Steel star may look buff and strong when it comes to tackling the bad guys but shooting one-on-one with a romantic interest is not his cup of tea. The British actor got candid about why he thinks sex scenes are unnecessary.
He argues that “There are circumstances where a sex scene is beneficial to a movie.” However, in his view, nowadays they are overused, “I’m not a fan.”
The 40-year-old even goes on to question, “When you have a sense that you’re going, ‘Is this necessary or is it people just with less clothing on?’ That’s where you start to get more uncomfortable.” Needless to say, Henry Cavill is quite averse to this part of the filmmaking process.
There Is No Action in Sex Scenes
One more bit of tidbit he shares is, “There’s not a performance here. It is not a piece which is going to carry through into the rest of the movie.” That said, the DC star points out that “sex scenes can be great in a movie; they can help with the storytelling.”
But mostly, shows or films rarely use sex in such a pleasing manner. Speaking of web series and movies filled with scenes of intercourse, Henry Cavill says, “It can be a little bit of a cop-out if a TV show or a movie is just filled with gyrating bodies.” Apart from the idea of naked persons, “What is this doing for us?” he asks.
Opposes Uncomfortable Things
Henry opposes not only sketchy sex scenes but also hates his private life being dragged into the open. The Argylle actor strongly avoids discussing his dating life in real life. For someone in the spotlight, this can be difficult.
But Henry Cavill took a stand against social media users who made negative remarks about his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso in 2021. “I am very happy in love, and in life,” The Witcher star wrote on Instagram, “but your ‘passion’ is misplaced, and I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me.”
