Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has proved her mettle as an artist critically acclaimed films like Tanu Weds Manu, Raanjhanaa, and Nil Battey Sannata to name a few. Even after featuring in supporting roles, she has managed to steal the limelight from main characters of a movie. However, none of it is benefitting Bhasker at the present moment.
In a recent interview, Swara has said that the kind of opportunities she is getting is not what she deserves after having ‘six or seven blockbuster films and like a whole bunch of web series’ to her credit. She also called herself a ‘far better and more competent actor’.
In a conversation with a leading daily, the Veere Di Wedding actress stated that she has consciously chosen to put at risk the most dear thing to her that is her work. And the cost has been huge. Now, she doesn’t get to do the thing that she loves doing, which is acting.
“I’m a far better actor and a far more competent, and effective actor than the opportunities that come my way. I have a far better track record in terms of my career. I’ve been part of six or seven blockbuster films and like a whole bunch of web series [and] shows, led them. I’ve never had bad reviews pretty much. There shouldn’t be a reason for me to feel like I don’t get enough work but clearly, I don’t,” she added.
Workwise, Swara Bhasker will appear next in a murder mystery titled Mimamsa and a women-centric drama Mrs Falani. She was last seen in Jahaan Chaar Yaar alongside Meher Vij, Pooja Chopra and Shikha Talsania.
