Swara Bhasker Slams Online Trolls Over ‘Conservative’ Wardrobe Remarks After Marriage

Actor Swara Bhasker has once again hit back at trolls who attempted to mock her for her wardrobe choices after her marriage to NCP leader Fahad Ahmad. Known for her outspoken nature, Swara, who often calls out online bullies and critics, took to social media to share her response to the latest controversy involving her fashion sense.

The actor shared a meme that showed a comparison of her appearance before and after her marriage. The meme juxtaposed an image of Swara dressed in a simple salwar kurta, with her head covered by a dupatta, alongside a glamorous shot from her earlier acting days. The caption suggested that Swara had become more “conservative” after her marriage to Fahad.

In her post, Swara didn’t shy away from addressing the trolls directly. She wrote, “I didn’t realise my wardrobe choices post-marriage are a national cyber debate (bizarre!). Here are more pics of me post-marriage to give Sanghi vermin more fodder for their dung.” The actor included several pictures of herself post-marriage, where she was seen wearing Western outfits, including dresses and an off-shoulder gown, effectively countering the claim of her supposed transformation into a conservative figure.

Swara also mocked those who tried to involve her husband, Fahad Ahmad, and his religion in the controversy. She added, “I’m sorry @FahadZirarAhmad doesn’t fit your stereotype of a conservative Muslim husband. Lol!” This sharp response was a clear defiance against the social media discourse that attempted to reduce her personal and fashion choices to political or religious stereotypes.

Swara Bhasker married Fahad Ahmad, a student leader and politician, in February 2023. The couple also welcomed their daughter, Rabiya, in September 2023. Fahad, who was previously part of the Samajwadi Party, shifted to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and contested the Maharashtra Assembly elections in 2024 from Anushakti Nagar in Mumbai’s south-central region.

The actor, who was last seen in films ‘Jahaan Chaar Yaar’ and ‘Mimansa’ in 2022, is set to appear in the upcoming film ‘Mrs Falani’, though the release date has yet to be announced.

Swara’s candid response highlights her resistance to being reduced to online stereotypes, further cementing her reputation as a bold and unapologetic voice in the entertainment industry.
