In an exclusive conversation with HT City, Taapsee Pannu clarifies that she intended the wedding to be a “private affair” amidst the flurry of rumours surrounding her small-scale Udaipur nuptials with badminton player Mathias Boe. Even though her sister Shagun shared some images that appeared to be from a private ceremony.
There were leaked recordings all over social media and her friends in the business, such as Pavail Gulati, Abhilash Thapliyal, and Kanika Dhillon addressed the rumours up until now.
When asked whether the 36-year-old intends to release the wedding photos on social media or make an official announcement anytime soon, she responds, “I just am not very sure if I want to let my personal life and the people involved, to go through the kind of scrutiny that happens when a public figure gets married.”
Not my spouse or the other wedding-related participants; I am the one who signed up for this. I have kept it private because I’m not sure how I feel about it being public.
Taapsee, nevertheless, quickly clarifies that the “intention was never to keep it (the wedding) a secret”. She adds, “The people who are genuinely close to me, were a part of the celebration and always knew about my relationship and my intentions about when and how I want to get married.”
Didn’t want to make it a public affair
Taapsee acknowledges that, although she has never really talked about her relationship or personal life, there are times when she wants to spend time with her loved ones without worrying about the criticism that often follows special occasions.
“I just didn’t want to make it public because then, instead of truly enjoying the way I would want to do it, I would start worrying about how it is perceived. I would unconsciously begin to consider how it feels from the outside, which is something I did not want to consider, particularly for this one item since it would hopefully only happen once in a lifetime,” the woman continues. She consequently insists that she hasn’t made any arrangements to discuss the event in detail yet.
