Nepotism in the industry is a raging debate and everyone in the industry is speaking their side of the story. Some actresses who have been dragged in the fight are Kangana Ranaut, Taapsee Pannu, and Swara Bhaskar. Now, Taapsee Pannu has come out to speak on being a victim of the same and yet making her own path out of there.
In a recent interview with India Today, Taapsee Pannu revealed that there are times when she got replaced by star kids. Taapsee also stated that she does not need any validation from anyone and that none of her films is backed, funded, produced by the so-called ‘movie mafias’ and it does not make her any less successful. “I have been replaced in a lot of films by star kids. But I refuse to be bitter about it. I reached a point when I didn’t seek validation from them. That’s when I decided to make my own path. You don’t need any validation, they haven’t come to screenings of my films or tweeted about them, but does that make my films bad? No,” said Taapsee.
Speaking about how one cannot achieve anything in the industry with co-existing of the star kids. She was quoted saying, “We have to co-exist. It’s not that star kids will be driven out and only outsiders will stay, or vice versa. Right now, if we are saying that insiders have the power and are miss using it against the outsiders. What are we doing, we are turning the table and now harassing them and bullying them. How will we attain equality like this?”
