Taapsee Pannu Shares Why She Won’t Date Heart-throb Of The Nation Kartik Aaryan

Taapsee Pannu is undoubtedly one of the most stunning actresses of the tinsel town. With her charismatic looks and commendable acting skills, she has carved a niche for herself in the industry. She started off her career with Tamil and Telegu films and soon she became popular with her non-stream and powerful roles. With the success of her Bollywood films like Badla and Pink, Tapasee has established herself.

Kartik Aaryan who is honoured with the title of the national crush. With actresses like Ananya Pandey and Sara Ali Khan openly declaring their crush on him on national television Kartik has a long queue of actresses drooling on him. Now the Badla actress Taapsee has said that she won’t date Kartik and she has a valid reason for it. In a chat show, Taapsee had said, “There is already a crowd around him. I don’t want to stand in a long queue for him.”

For the ones who don’t know, Taapsee was the first choice for Pati Patni Aur Who but she was dropped at the last moment. Reacting on the same, Taapsee had said, “Poor Mudassar (director Mudassar Ali) also hasn’t been given a reason for it. He was just asked to ‘take someone else.’ When I tried to confront the producers, I wasn’t given a proper reason. As much as I have been trying to get some clarity on the matter, they have been putting the conversation off, which is very weird. After moving my dates, I think it would have been better if I was informed about the development instead of finding it from others. I deserve an answer. This is disheartening.”

Talking about the challenges she faced at the starting of her career Taapsee had said, “I got into modelling during my college days, just to make some extra pocket money. I had scored 88% in my CAT exams and was en route to pursuing my MBA when I got an offer for a film — it happened as organically as that. Thereafter, three of the films I worked in didn’t work and I got the label of ‘iron leg’ — I was ‘rumoured’ to bring bad luck to films. Mind you, all of these films had huge male co-stars and directors, but the failure of movies was blamed upon my bad luck. Thereafter, I’ve been asked to reduce my pay, I’ve been thrown out of films because the producer was having financial issues. This was all before I did the movie Pink, but believe it or not, even after that there’s stigma I’ve had to deal with.”

She had further added, “Actors have refused to work with me in Bollywood because I’m not an ‘A list actress’. Producers have finalised me, locked my dates and then randomly backed out at the last minute because they got a bigger name. Expecting equal pay is far off, even the basic amount is something I have to fight for— but I’m not complaining. I’m here because I love acting — I may not be the most glamorous or have the perfect body but I believe in my art. I don’t like indulging in self-pity…I enjoy being strong and independent.”
