TABU ANNOUNCES HER NEXT FILM KHUFIYA

Khufiya, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, will begin production by the end of the month. Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi will play crucial roles in the thriller. It is based on Amar Bhushan’s spy thriller Escape to Nowhere and tells the narrative of Krishna Mehra, a RAW operative ordered to find the mole selling India’s defense secrets. However, no more information about the film has been released. It’ll be available on Netflix. The espionage thriller will follow the story of a RAW operator, a mole, and an estranged lover, all while dealing with personal issues that make the mission challenging.

Delhi will be the main location for the shoot. Khufiya, chronicling a true story from the world of intelligence service in India, for which he is uniting with his favorite Tabu and Actor Ali Fazal. Ali Fazal will play the leading man in the film.

Announcing the film on her Twitter handle, Tabu writes, “Expect nothing but sheer thrill. Excited to announce my re-uniting with @vishalrbhardwaj for #Khufiya. Coming very soon on @netflix_in! @alifazal9.”

Director and producer Vishal Bhardwaj shared the same poster on his handle and wrote, “Justice gets personal. I’m extremely thrilled to share Khufiya with you, a spy thriller inspired by true events. Coming soon, only on Netflix.” It is reported that the film shooting will start by the end of this month and New Delhi will be the main location.

As reported in Hindustan Times, the director said, “It is my first web project and I am very excited about it. Around 70% of the film will be shot in the national capital, and the rest in the US.”

Tabu and filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj make for a hit pair. The duo has worked together on blockbusters like ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Haider’. Tabu was last seen in the BBC series A Suitable Boy. She is currently shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and has also Kuttey in the pipeline.  Last month it was reported that filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj was gearing up to make his directorial debut with Kuttey.
