Veteran actress Tabu, celebrated for her stellar performances over decades, has been thrust into controversy over false statements attributed to her regarding marriage. The actress’ team has issued a strong-worded statement condemning media outlets and social media platforms for spreading “falsely attributed undignified statements.”

Tabu, who recently won acclaim for her portrayal of Sister Francesca in Dune: Prophecy, found herself in the spotlight after certain publications claimed she made disparaging remarks about marriage and relationships. A specific report alleged that the actress had said she was “not interested in marriage and only wants a man to sleep in bed with,” sparking widespread reactions online.

Reacting to the reports, Tabu’s team issued a statement, terming the claims as fabricated. “There are several websites and social media handles that have falsely attributed certain undignified statements to Tabu. We would like to clarify that she never made these quotes, and it is a serious breach of ethics to mislead the audience,” the statement read.

The team demanded an immediate retraction of the articles and a formal apology from the involved media houses. “We demand that these websites remove the fabricated quotes immediately and issue a formal apology for their actions,” the statement further added.

This isn’t the first time Tabu has addressed such invasive queries. In a previous interview with Hindustan Times, she expressed her displeasure at constant speculation about her marital status. “Psychological analysis kyun karna chahte ho mera? Boring hai yeh question. Kuch aur pooch. (Why do you want to do my psychological analysis? This is a boring question. Ask me something else),” she had remarked.

 

On the professional front, Tabu is gearing up for her next big-screen appearance in Bhooth Bangla, where she shares the screen with Akshay Kumar. A source close to the project revealed, “Akshay Kumar announced the film on his birthday because he was aware of the excitement of the fans for this reunion. He is confident that the script will do complete justice to the legacy of his collaboration with Priyan.”

With her team taking a firm stand, Tabu’s fans await further clarification from the involved media outlets, hoping for a resolution to the controversy.
