Kareena Kapoor Khan, the Bollywood diva and mother of two, recently shared some insights into her life. Amidst her busy schedule, she revealed that her son, Taimur Ali Khan, has expressed his feelings about her frequent travels.

Taimur’s Complaints

During a UN event in Delhi on May 4, 2024, Kareena shared that Taimur often complains about her busy life.

She said, “I feel that boys who see not just their father, but also their mothers work, have some sort of respect for the fact that I can also be busy. Today they had a holiday and wanted me to be home but I told them I have to go to work.”

Taimur was like, ‘You are always going to Delhi and Dubai for work, I want to be with you.’ “I told him that work is important too and I promise to come back and give him more time so that he doesn’t feel neglected in any way” she mentioned.

This candid revelation shows the challenges faced by working mothers in balancing their professional and personal lives.

The Balancing Act

Recently appointed as UNICEF National Ambassador of India, Kareena emphasized the need for balanced family and professional commitments. She assured Taimur of quality time upon her return, highlighting the significance of her work alongside family obligations. She also mentioned that she must fulfil her professional commitments and make a difference in the world while ensuring she spends quality time with her family.

Instilling Values In Children

At the UN event, Kareena highlighted the challenge of instilling values of respect and equality among children. She believes it’s essential for children to witness both parents working, fostering respect for their mother’s professional commitments. She also mentioned that children must understand the importance of hard work and dedication and respect all kinds of work.

“Moreover, they pick up habits from how parents talk to each other. Saif always tells me that we talk to each other with love and therefore our children will talk to each other and others with love. He is very particular about the fact that they are watching and learning from observation. That’s also how I try to inculcate respect in both my boys.”

The Role of Parents

Kareena and her husband, Saif Ali Khan, are careful about their conversations in front of their children, Taimur and Jehangir. Saif emphasizes the importance of speaking to each other with love, as children often emulate their parents’ behaviour. They believe in setting a good example for their children through their actions and behaviour.
