Tamannaah Bhatia, one of the Indian film industry’s most popular actresses, is celebrating 20 years in cinema this year. Known for her acclaimed roles in films like Baahubali: The Beginning, Jailer, and Stree 2, Tamannaah’s journey to stardom has been a challenging one, marked by tireless effort and unwavering confidence.
In a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Tamannaah shared her clear perception of the industry. “Nobody gives you work because you’re a nice person. People give you work because you bring something to the table,” she explained. She believes in expressing one’s ideas directly, as it often works in an actor’s favor when those ideas contribute positively to the script. “Worrying too much about how people will feel often just dims your opportunity to contribute and is quite counterproductive,” she added.
Tamannaah also revealed her unique strategy for dealing with men in the industry who thought they were “making all the rules.” She would simply imagine them in a saree or another glamorous outfit, then realise they could never pull it off. “That’s when I realised — what I can do… he can’t. So they will need me,” she shared, explaining how this thought gave her courage and confidence.
On the work front, Tamannaah is set to appear alongside Diana Penty in the much-anticipated web series Do You Wanna Partner, which premieres tomorrow on Amazon Prime Video.
