Manoj Bajpayee is receiving positive feedback for his indie film, Bhaiyya Ji. The actor has performed in several different movie genres during his acting career. Manoj spoke with Sushant Sinha about substance abuse and divorces in Bollywood in a recent interview that he posted on his YouTube channel.
Manoj on Divorces on Bollywood
During the interview, Manoj Bajpayee was questioned about divorces in Bollywood. First of all, he cleared up the misconception and said, “Let’s call it the Hindi film industry.” He believes this is a very small industry, and a lot of people need jobs.
If someone is ever caught doing the wrong thing in some corner of the industry, that doesn’t prove anything. He and his friends, or co-stars, also belong to the same industry. And he asserted the fact that 95% of those co-stars are very passionate. They are very sincere, not only to the films but also to their family and near and dear ones.
“A few incidents here and there cannot prove that the whole industry is like that. On today’s date, if you go to Tees Hazari Court and ask about the divorce rate, you will realise where we have come today, where relationships and marriages are breaking every day. Our society adapted the nuclear family trend, and there are benefits to it too, but the harm that the nuclear family trend caused, you can see it in the courts today,” Manoj continued.
Open-Mindedness In The Industry
Manoj Bajpayee further secured his stand by saying that the change in society will also be visible in the industry.
Bajpayee praised the industry for its open-mindedness, which he sees as essential for creative individuals. He argued that the changes in society naturally extend to the industry, underscoring the interconnectedness of societal and industry trends. “The industry is very open-minded, which is quite a good thing. Creative people will have to be open-minded,” he concluded.
