‘They Signed Me To Scold’: Tabu On What ‘Crew’ Makers Want From Her; Censor Board Has Other Plans

Bollywood A-listers Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon’s film “Crew”  is releasing on March 29. The crime comedy revolves around the three leading ladies who play badass air hostesses.

However, according to Tabu, she is not in the project because of her comic timing, but people want to see her cuss. In her own words, “Daantne ke liye lete hai mujhe filmon mein.”

Tabu swearing is in fashion

At the trailer launch on Saturday, Tabu shared her suspicions about why makers sign her in films. Looking at the specific roles she has been getting in recent times, she expressed that it is because she scolds people. The “Bholaa” star remarked, “Daantne ke liye lete hai mujhe filmon mein.”

The hilarious response evoked laughter, and you can see why the versatile actress is so spontaneous. At the same time, the “Khufia” actress promises a thrilling and madcap adventure with the movie. As we watch the three stewardesses take part in smuggling antics, this much-awaited heist comedy will become highly memorable.

Censor Board orders to remove cussing

CBFC has ordered many modifications in Tabu’s dialogues from the film. The main reason that Tabu thinks she got signed will no longer be available. Per reports, most of the cuss words that Tabu has said in the movie will get replaced.

The super fun trailer that fans got to see on Saturday received a lot of praise but not from the CBFC. Tabu plays a character who doesn’t shy away from saying cuss words. However, after viewing the final cut, CBFC is not ready to green-light the project if these lines are included.

There are several scenes and pictures where Tabu uses explicit language. Some of those words are also shown in the trailer. For instance, “Baith ch***ye” is changed to “bhootiye,” “ha***zada” now becomes “ameerzada,” and “ha****iyon” is swapped with “kameeno.” You need to wait for the film’s release to see how interesting these changes will be to the story.
