In a powerful and emotional social media post, actor Tannishtha Chatterjee has revealed her diagnosis with stage 4 oligo metastatic cancer. The actor, who is known for her work in films like Parched and Lion, shared a series of photos of herself smiling, emphasizing that her message is one of “love and strength,” not pain.
Tannishtha opened up about the immense difficulty of the past eight months, which followed the loss of her father to cancer. She shared her personal struggle of being the primary caregiver for both her 70-year-old mother and 9-year-old daughter. “It can’t get worse than this. A 70yr old mother and 9 year all daughter…both totally dependent on me,” she wrote.
A “Sisterhood” of Support
Despite the immense challenge, Tannishtha said she has discovered “an extraordinary kind of love.” She credited her friends and family for their unwavering support, which she said has brought “genuine smiles” to her face even on the hardest days.
In her post, she also included a group photo with a number of fellow actors, including Divya Dutta, Lara Dutta, Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan, and Konkona Sen Sharma.
