This Pic Of Shraddha Kapoor From Saina Nehwal Biopic Proves Why She Got The Role
Looks like this year is quite magical for actress Shraddha Kapoor. After her film with Rajkummar Rao i.e Stree, Shraddha received appreciation both in terms of critical reception and box office number. Now, the actress has now roped in the lead role in Saina Nehwal biopic.
The makers of the Saina Nehwal biopic have released Shraddha Kapoor’s first look, showcasing her transformation into the ace badminton player, Saina Nehwal. Dressed in a red t-shirt and black skirt, Shraddha is seen with a badminton in her hand and mole on her left cheek just like Saina Nehwal and trust us, she looks like a spitting image of Saina Nehwal in the picture.

The actor has reportedly been preparing really hard to get the character just right and has been training for several months now. Speaking about her practice sessions, Shraddha had said: “I fell in love with the game when I started playing it. But it is very challenging. On the days when I practice badminton, my days are completely different and I am a different person when I don’t play.”
“I usually start playing it from 6 am in morning everyday for two hours or so. We aim to practice everyday but if my arms or legs get too sore then I don’t do the class. I feel tempted to play that time as well but I have been advised not to play as I would get prone to injuries.”, she added.
Saina had earlier said to IANS that she is confident that Shraddha will give 100 percent to the biopic. “Whenever she will start it (shooting) I will definitely watch out some of her sessions to see how it is going. When an actor comes out with a movie on an athlete, it will be different and challenging,” Saina had said.
While the film went on the floors earlier this month, the release date of the film or its name has not yet been announced. It is being directed by Amol Gupte, who has previously helmed movies like Sniff, Hawa Hawai and Stanley Ka Dabba. Apart from that, Shraddha has also been roped in for Sujeeth’s sci-fi film ‘Sahoo’ which also stars Prabhas, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Evelyn Sharma.
