‘Those Who Don’t Have Money To Invest Become Commentators’, Hansal Mehta After The Downfall of Buckingham Murders

The recently released Buckingham Murders of Kareena Kapoor Khan has received critical acclaim after its release in theatres, but its performance at the ticket window was not good. The film has been struggling at the box office since day one and now it is having to struggle a lot to earn even one crore rupees as box office collection. Facing the issue of film not getting enough popularity, now the film’s director Hansal Mehta said in a recent interview that films are limited to only a number.

He feels that this underestimates the work done by the artists and all the people involved in film making. Hansal said that he believes that this film is for the coming generations, so time can be thought about, but now we do not give time to the film. Hansal Mehta further said in an interview with one of the media houses that people who have nothing to do with the film and the investments made in it, also become commentators and behave as if they are stakeholders, and that too without knowing how the business model of films works.

While discussing more the culture being followed in today’s industry and how he deals with the nervousness and stress before a movie releases Hansal Mehta said, ‘Now I leave the film even before its release, so that we can move forward, otherwise you can get stuck in it’. He told that if he says that he does not get nervous, then it would be a lie. He said that it is unfortunate that films have been made a very small game, a weekend game.
