Now the director Sunil Darshan of the film talked about this in a recent interview and revealed that the news of Akshay’s affair with Priyanka started affecting his marriage with Twinkle Khanna.

While talking about this, Sunil Darshan also revealed that after Twinkle left the house, Akshay Kumar never worked with Priyanka Chopra again. The couple was last seen working in the film ‘Aitraaz’. The director further said, “Akshay Kumar was the hero of ‘Barsaat’. As soon as the film started, he faced some ‘strange problem’ with his wife. I had started shooting for ‘Barsaat’ with Akshay and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. The film was to be shot in one schedule.’

Sunil Darshan further said, ‘Five days before the schedule of the film, Akshay called me and asked me to meet him. When I was going to meet Akshay, Bobby’s manager called me and asked me to make a film with him. I asked him to wait for the same.’ Sunil Darshan then explained the reason for Akshay leaving the film and said, ‘Some blunders had happened. Some rumors had started flying about Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra, and Twinkle Khanna left the house.’

He further said, ‘As an actor, you should be responsible enough to deal with their family problems properly. If your wife has been an actress, she knows everything about the industry. She has worked with big stars. She knew everything.’ After this, Sunil Darshan met Bobby Deol and signed a deal for three films with him. Bobby replaced Akshay Kumar in ‘Barsaat’.
