‘Unfortunately India’s Biggest Reality Show Became More About The Host’, Ashneer Grover Again Took A Dig At Salman Khan

Ashneer Grover has reignited his previous controversy by taking a subtle dig at a Bollywood superstar, without directly naming him, while talking about Bigg Boss 19. His comments have once again drawn attention toward his ongoing friction with Salman Khan. In an interaction with one of the media houses, Grover spoke about how reality shows are built around contestants, yet often end up revolving around the host.

Ashneer said, “Reality shows should always be about the participants. Unfortunately, in India’s biggest reality show, a very big superstar hosts it. It has now become more about him than the contestants. Addressing his critics who questioned his hosting style, Ashneer doubled down on his perspective. He said, “Contestants dedicate 24 hours of their life to such shows. They are the ones investing real effort. But if someone just arrives on the weekend and hijacks the entire narrative, that’s not fair. The power should remain with the contestants and their content, not the weekend guest.”

Let us tell you that this isn’t the first time Grover has clashed, directly or indirectly, with Salman Khan. Their rift dates back to one of Ashneer’s earlier podcast interviews, where he narrated his experience of sponsoring Salman for a shoot. According to Grover, he waited three hours to brief the star, only for the manager to tell him not to click pictures with Salman as it might offend him. Ashneer claimed he angrily refused, saying, “Go to hell! What kind of heroism is this?”

The remark quickly went viral, drawing heavy criticism from Salman’s fans. The situation escalated further during Bigg Boss 18 in 2024, when Grover appeared as a guest. On the show, Salman confronted him about his statements. The superstar clarified, “That meeting wasn’t directly with you, it was with your team. You made it sound like we misled you, and even the figures you mentioned were wrong.”
