It’s been over two and half years since Isha Ambani married her longtime love Anand Piramal in the century’s grandest wedding ceremonies. She had her engagement in Italy, an opulent Sangeet ceremony in Udaipur where Beyonce was the showstopper and all Bollywood stars danced for her, and a grand wedding at Antilla, her humble abode.
While all of us are still gaping at the beautiful pictures that keep surfacing the internet, there is this one picture of Isha Ambani getting teary-eyed at her vidaai along with her family members including parents Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani, brother and then soon-to-be sister-in-law, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta and the probable soon-to-be Ambani bahu, Radhika Merchant, around. The pictures are oozing with sentiments and love that the family shares. Check it out:
A while back another picture from Isha’s haldi ceremony surfaced on social media and went crazy viral in no time. In the picture, the couple twinned in pale honey yellow colour and looked ravishing. Dressed in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation, Isha looked beautiful in a shaded honey-coloured lehenga. The lehenga with a matching choli and front draped dupatta looked fabulous with the intricate work and fine gold detailing. While the lehenga has it’s own charm, it’s the lavish layers of gold jewellery that is eclectic and jaw-drop gorgeous. Apart from a staple gold necklace, Isha opted for five layers of gold necklaces that come down till the waist. In case you missed it take a look:
Everybody in the family did something special to make it a lifetime memory. However, it was her daddy, Mukesh ji’s speech that still echoes our heart. On her engagement day, he read out the words he had penned straight from his heart. He had said, “The last weekend, thanks to our dear Isha, has been a whirlwind and a surprise for all of us and we are still recovering from it.” Check out the complete speech below:

In a post-marriage interview with Vogue Isha Ambani had once revealed how she and Anand are two different souls as a couple and said, “He hates attending events, I enjoy them. I really enjoyed our wedding, but it was not exactly his idea of fun (laughs). He’s more spiritual than I am. But we are also very similar. We are both very family-oriented, and we both love food. I remember in one of the speeches that my father gave at my wedding, he listed ten reasons why he liked Anand. It was hilarious, and dad concluded by saying that these are probably the same ten things that he would also use to describe himself. And it’s true; in many ways, Anand reminds me of my father.”
Speaking about her big fat Gujju wedding Isha Ambani had revealed, “The wedding went off beautifully. Like any other bride, I had my share of bridal jitters but getting married at home made it very special and I had the time of my life celebrating my most memorable moments with all the people I love.” Revealing the reason why had cried on her wedding, Isha had continued, “I was never someone who dreamt of how my wedding would be, yet it was wonderful in more ways than I can imagine. It was a very emotional affair for everyone in my family. I was emotional too but everyone around me would cry all the time. I only cried at my bidaai because I felt some peer pressure as everyone else was crying, especially my parents.”
Vidaai is indeed an emotional moment for the bride and her family! Share your own stories with us.
