Karan Johar’s Bigg Boss OTT fame Urfi Javed manages to grab the spotlight even after the show. Her unique dress sense and controversial statements bring her into the headlines now and then.
Urfi gets trolled most of the time because she chooses outfits. However, the actress never seems bothered about what others say about her. Urfi has been in the industry for a while now and she has experienced many ups and downs in her journey. Urfi in a recent interview with a leading daily has revealed that she has struggled a lot in her career and said that she’s ‘still struggling’.
Urfi ran away from her house to pursue her career in acting. After coming to Mumbai, the actress had bagged many shows but luck was not on her side and she had to face a lot of rejections too.
Urfi during her interview with ETimes had recalled how she was once conned by a producer who forced her to do explicit scenes for a web series. When Urfi denied doing the scenes, the producer threatened to send her to jail and even asked for a big amount of money as compensation. She shared that after the shoot she began having suicidal thoughts. Urfi then had refused to continue the shoot from the next day for which the producer demanded Rs 40 lakh.
She stated, “I’ve struggled a lot in my career. I am still struggling, I feel. I started my career with Rs 3000 per day. Also, initially, I don’t know why but things were not working in my favor. All the shows I would sign would shut down in 3 months. I don’t think I’ve done shows for more than 3 months and I’ve ended up doing some 10-12 shows.”
When she was asked that what kept her going, she replied, ‘necessity’. “I had only two options either keep struggling or suicide. Till date I’ve no plan B, this is what I know to do. This is my only plan and I’ve never thought about what else I can do. I don’t think I would have been alive if I had not become an actress.”
