He was trapped under a plan by some fake event organizers. Rajesh Puri was invited to attend a program in Delhi as the chief guest. The organizers had also booked his air ticket for his journey from Mumbai to Delhi. When Rajesh reached Delhi airport on September 8, he was welcomed warmly by them. After this, he sat in the car and headed towards the hotel where he had a booking.

Till then everything seemed normal, but while sitting in the car, Rajesh Puri started suspecting those people. After one and a half hours, he understood that those people were going to kidnap him and the story of a false program was fabricated. However, later the kidnappers changed their mind for some reason and left Rajesh back at Delhi airport. No complaint has been lodged in this matter by the actor. Rajesh says that they did not cause any harm and let him go quietly without any ruckus.
