Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale Passes Away, Was Hospitalized For Past Few Days In Pune!!

Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, who worked in Bollywood and TV passed away on Saturday. Vikram was hospitalized for a long time, where his condition remained critical. The actor’s health continued to be critical and he was on the ventilator. The 77-year-old actor breathed his last at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. This has been confirmed by the actor’s daughter. She said, “It is confirmed that Shri Vikram Gokhale passed away this afternoon. We would like to thank everyone for their good wishes, support, and prayers during this difficult time. If media reports are to be believed, the remains of the actor will be taken to Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir and the last rites will be performed at Vaikunth. There has been a wave of mourning ever since the news of the actor’s demise surfaced.

Vikram Gokhale was born in a film family. Acting started in the family from her great-grandmother. Vikram Gokhale’s great-grandmother Durgabai Kamat was the first female actor on the Indian screen. Her grandmother Kamalabai Gokhale had worked as the first female child artist of Indian cinema and her father Chandrakant Gokhale was also a veteran actor in Marathi cinema. Following the path of the family, Vikram also joined the cinema. However, his name was always associated with the theatre. His first film ‘Parwana’ was released in the year 1970.

After this, he appeared in many films and TV serials. Vikram Gokhale had acted in many Marathi and Bollywood films. He was seen in Amitabh Bachchan’s Agneepath in 1990 and as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s father in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Apart from this, the actor also acted in Bollywood hits like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Dil Se’, ‘De Dana Dan’, ‘Hichki’, ‘Nikamma’ and ‘Mission Mangal’. At the same time, if we look at his TV career, he has appeared in ‘Udaan’, ‘Indradhanush’, ‘Kshitij Ye Nahi’, ‘Sanjivani’, ‘Jeevan Saathi’, ‘Singhasan’, ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’, and Shiv Mahapuran.
