Vicky Kaushal Starts Prepping For The Immortal Ashwatthama With Director Aditya Dhar

Vicky Kaushal has begin prepping for his next film, The Immortal Ashwatthama, with Aditya Dhar. The actor took to Instagram to share an interesting photo of himself with the director where he is seen with a cast of Plaster of Paris on his face. It seems the actor was giving his face cast so that prosthetic make-up artists can work on his looks for the film. This is Vicky’s second film with Aditya Dhar. Earlier, they worked together in Uri: The Surgical Strike.

Vicky Kaushal, who released the first poster of The Immortal Ashwatthama in January 2021, shared a new photo as he began prepping for the film. In the photo, the actor is seen with a cast of Plaster of Paris (POP) on his face. Director Aditya Dhar can be seen making a victory sign with his fingers behind Vicky. The director is seen with mask on. Sharing the photo, Vicky Kaushal wrote, “When the Director’s really serious about ‘casting’ you in the Film. Prepping to be The Immortal! @adityadharfilms #TheImmortalAshwatthama (sic).”

In January, Vicky Kaushal treated his fans to the first poster of The Immortal Ashwatthama. He wrote, “Another one!!! On the 2nd anniversary of URI-The Surgical Strike, the team gives you a glimpse into the world of #TheImmortalAshwatthama. Cannot wait to get onto this journey with the dream team of @adityadharfilms #RonnieScrewvala @rsvpmovies @soniyeah22 (sic).”

Vicky Kaushal is excited to play the mythological character of Ashwatthama in his next. In a statement released earlier, the actor described The Immortal Ashwatthama as the biggest film of his career. He had said, “Ashwatthama is Aditya’s dream project and it required the backing of a visionary like Ronnie to bring this spectacle to audiences. It’s going to be a new space for me as an actor, exploring the newest form of technology alongside acting. Can’t wait to start the journey soon with this wonderful team.”

The Immortal Ashwatthama is Vicky Kaushal’s second collaboration with director Aditya Dhar. Billed as a superhero action film set in modern times, it is being planned as a trilogy. The shooting of the film was scheduled to begin in April 2021. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it was delayed. Now that the team has started prepping, it seems the shooting will begin soon. The trilogy has its roots in the Mahabharata and will see Vicky Kaushal in a mythological character of Ashvatthama, the son of Pandavs and Kauravas teacher Dronacharya, who was given the boon of immortality.
