Vidya Balan Paid Tribute To Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi By Recreating Her Look Under ‘A Recreation of Iconic Style’ Theme

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is one of the most beautiful actresses in the entertainment industry. She is often seen showcasing her beautiful Indian style and now she has teamed up with fashion costume designer Anu Parthasarathy to recreate the iconic style of legendary singer MS Subbulakshmi under the project ‘A Recreation of Iconic Style’. Vidya wants to adopt the style of MS Subbulakshmi exactly, so she is taking full help from Anu in this.

Let us tell you that Bharat Ratna musician Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi was born on 16 September 1916 in Madurai, Madras Presidency, British India. She was an Indian Carnatic singer. She was the first musician to be awarded Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor. She was the first Indian musician to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1974 and the first Indian to perform at the United Nations General Assembly in 1966.

While talking about Subbulakshi Vidya Balan said, ‘I love MS Subbulakshmi very much. I grew up listening to her songs. My mother used to play MS Subbulakshmi’s songs first thing in the morning every day. Even today, my mornings begin with her melodious voice. MS Subbulakshmi is a spiritual experience filled with love and I feel very proud that I got a chance to pay tribute to her’.

With the blessings of MS Subbulakshmi’s family, Anu plans to recreate the kumkum and vibhuti on her forehead along with the saree and other necessary jewelry. Apart from the nose ring and earrings worn in her ears, everything has been planned to be created exactly like that, which reflects the image of MS Subbulakshmi.

While deciding the attire of Vidya Anu said, “It is a matter of pride for me that I got a chance to do a project in which I can recreate the iconic style of MS Subbulakshmi. I think Vidya Balan has the talent to pull it off. I think this tribute to MS Subbulakshmi will inspire today’s generation and carry forward her legacy”. Anu Parthasarathy is an Indian fashion costume designer who has worked in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu language films.
