Vidya Balan recently looked back on her time playing Silk Smitha in “The Dirty Picture,” and she spilt the beans about how getting into character led her to pick up smoking. Can you believe it? She ended up puffing on two to four cigarettes a day after the shoot wrapped up.
Vidya’s honest revelation about her smoking on the sets of The Dirty Picture
In a chat with Samdish Bhatia, when asked if she smokes, Vidya was surprisingly honest. She admitted she enjoys smoking, finding the smell pretty appealing. Although she doesn’t smoke now, she confessed it was a phase she went through after “The Dirty Picture.” Vidya quoted, “No, I don’t. Though, actually I enjoy smoking. I’ve always found it very… so if you told me there’s no harm that the cigarette will do to you, then I would’ve become a smoker. I love the smell of smoke. Even at bus stops in my college days, I used to stand next to people smoking.”
She was then asked if there was a phase in her life when she used to smoke. Vidya said, “Haan, phase raha hai. After The Dirty Picture, voh aadat lag gayi.” Vidya revealed that she would smoke two to four cigarettes a day after the film was over.
Do aur Do Pyar, her latest film
Moving on to her latest gig, “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” Vidya shares the screen with Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It’s directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, making her debut.
The movie dives into the messy world of love, showing all its highs and lows. In an age of swiping left and right, it’s all about finding that real connection, you know? The film reminds us that love isn’t just about grand gestures; it’s about the simple stuff like talking and being there for each other.
It’s refreshing, really. In a sea of flashy romances, “Do Aur Do Pyaar” keeps it real. It’s like a warm hug, reminding us that love doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.
So, if you’re in the mood for a feel-good flick that’ll make you believe in love again, this one’s worth checking out. After all, who doesn’t love a good love story?
