In a conversation with casting director Mukesh Chhabra, Kahaani film director Sujoy Ghosh said that he was not able to bring a vanity van for Vidya Balan due to financial issues. And because of this Vidya changed clothes for shooting in the car itself. The director said that he was facing budget problems in those days that led to such problems for the actor. The director said we did not have much budget so she used to change clothes by putting a black cloth in her car.

He further said that despite the low budget of the fil,, Vidya agreed to do the film without putting any condition against me or the film. Vidya could have refused to work when the film Aladdin flopped in 2009, but she did not do so and continued to work with me and gave a blockbuster film.
