Defrauded of Rs 1.55 Crore – Bombay HC Grants Interim Relief to Accused Women
Last year, Vivek Oberoi reported a fraud of Rs 1.55 crore by his business partners, leading to the filing of a cheating case. The Bombay High Court has now granted interim relief from arrest to two women accused in the case, Nandita Saha and Radhika Nanda. The relief will remain in effect until the next hearing on February 22, 2023.
Business Partners Defend Actions in Court
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Vivek Oberoi filed a cheating case against his business partners, alleging misuse of invested funds. The FIR, filed by a chartered accountant on behalf of the Oberois, detailed instances of cheating, including an investment of Rs 15 lakhs in life insurance schemes.
Lawyers for the accused argued that clauses in the agreement provided for the welfare of partners and allowed such payments. The lawyers emphasized that the dispute was internal and did not warrant criminal charges. The Bombay High Court considered these arguments and granted interim protection from arrest to the accused until the next hearing.

Reportedly, the Oberois established a company named Oberoi Organics in 2017, which later struggled. To revive their business, they collaborated with the accused partners. Eventually dissolving Oberoi Organics and transforming it into Anandita Entertainment, an events business. The deal between the parties was finalized in July 2020.
